Fluent Waves ("Fluent Waves", "we", "us" or "our") provides online English language lessons, educational resources and related online services.
This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit fluentwaves.com, contact us, book lessons or use services connected with Fluent Waves.

Depending on how you interact with Fluent Waves, we may collect information such as:

3. Google Calendar
Fluent Waves uses Google Calendar as part of its lesson scheduling and classroom management system.
Google Calendar is currently used by Fluent Waves tutors to manage lesson availability and appointments. Students do not connect their personal Google Calendars to the Fluent Waves application.
Where authorized, our application accesses the relevant Fluent Waves tutor calendar using Google's Calendar read-only permission.
The application uses this information to support lesson scheduling and to display or process relevant calendar information within the Fluent Waves tutor/classroom system.
Fluent Waves does not sell Google Calendar information and does not use Google Calendar information for advertising.
The Fluent Waves application does not maintain a separate general-purpose database of the tutor's Google Calendar events. The Google Calendar remains managed within Google's services, and the application retrieves relevant calendar information when required for the scheduling functionality.
Direct or privately arranged lessons may be entered manually into the tutor's Google Calendar.
4. TidyCal
Fluent Waves may use TidyCal to allow students to book lessons online.
When a booking is made through TidyCal, information necessary to arrange the booking may be processed through TidyCal and associated Fluent Waves systems.
This can include information such as your name, email address, booking date, time and other information you provide during the booking process.
TidyCal processes information according to its own privacy practices and policies. We recommend reviewing TidyCal's current privacy documentation when using its booking service.
5. Online lessons and Whereby
Fluent Waves may use Whereby to provide online video lessons and virtual classroom functionality.
When you participate in an online lesson using Whereby, certain technical and communication information may be processed by Whereby in order to provide the video meeting service.

6. Website analytics
Fluent Waves currently uses Google Analytics to help us understand general website usage and improve the website.
Analytics may collect information such as pages visited, approximate technical information about the device or browser, and general interaction with the website.
Analytics information is used for website improvement and general understanding of website traffic. It is not used by Fluent Waves to sell personal information.

Where a Fluent Waves tutor authorizes Google Calendar access, authorization is handled through Google's OAuth system.
Fluent Waves requests only the Google Calendar permission required for the scheduling functionality, currently read-only calendar access.
A user can review or revoke third-party application access through their Google Account settings.
10. Data security
We take reasonable measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction.
Access to systems containing personal information is limited to people and services that require access for legitimate Fluent Waves business or service purposes.
No method of transmitting or storing information online can be guaranteed to be completely secure. We therefore cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Data retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including providing lessons, managing bookings, maintaining business records and meeting legal obligations.

A Fluent Waves tutor who has authorized Google Calendar access can revoke that access through their Google Account's third-party application permissions.
Revoking access prevents Fluent Waves from continuing to access the authorized Google Calendar through that authorization.

14. Children's privacy
Fluent Waves provides educational services to learners of different ages. Where a learner is a child or minor, a parent or legal guardian should make bookings and provide consent where required by applicable law.
